Intro to Glass Fusing (June 1st, 2025)
Date: 1st of June, 2025 (Sunday)
Time: 9:00am-4:30pm
This full day workshop is loads of fun and you will make a test tile, 2 jewelry pendants (or key chain), and a functional art piece.
The basic concepts of fusing glass will be explained and you will work with glass powders, frit and stringers with your test tile. The concept of “negative space” will become clear as you make your pendant, and the rest of the afternoon will be devoted to designing your “main event”. This is a 17cm x 17 cm dish, which will be fused and then slumped. All materials and necessary equipment will be provided, as well as morning tea.
You must bring your own lunch – we have a microwave and a refrigerator available. Please wear comfortable, casual clothing and closed toe shoes. A drink bottle is handy in warmer weather.
No previous experience with glass is required.
*No shows and late cancellations are not refundable. There must be 2-weeks notice to give adequate time to fill your spot.
